East Gosford Water Harvesting System
Setout, monitoring and certification surveys

This project was designed and commissioned by Gosford City Council. It is a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation of playing fields at Hylton Moore Park, East Gosford.

The infrastructure was built by Scape Constructions, who were also project managers.

CBH were utilised to detail the site prior to construction in order to verify ground contours and drainage capacity.

Once the design was complete, CBH marked it on the ground at regular intervals for the construction.

Being on a former landfill site, the ground was volatile in parts and had to be cautiously excavated in conjunction with the geotechnical engineers. Some of the soil was stockpiled for later use, and CBH monitored both its position and size to ensure safety.

After construction of the tanks, pipes and engine room, the site was finished excavating and returfing. CBH was again involved to measure the new works and certify it had been built according to the design. This is an important process performed by registered surveyors, especially to know if the drainage system will flow according to gravity, and is large enough to cope with storm rainfall.
